And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

It is the shape of Jesus’ life that deconstructs the toxic values of our world. It is the form of his death that demonstrates God’s love for the world. It is the reality of his resurrection that spells doom for sin and death. All of these elements, and many beside, are necessary for God to accomplish all that He intends to do in Christ.
